Thomas A. Brenner

View Video Tribute Thomas A. Brenner, age 69, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died late Tuesday, September 4, 2007, in his home. Mr. Brenner was the owner and operator of Brenner Excavating, established in 1974.  He had previously been employed by Maneval’s, Winzeler Excavating and Thiel Construction.  Mr. Brenner was a 1956 graduate of Bryan High School and served in the Army Reserves.  He was a long-time member of the Farmer Fire Department and was a member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233. Thomas A. Brenner was born on January 13, 1938, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Roy and Jennie (Monks) Brenner.  He married Virginia Reinhart on November 23, 1971, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brenner is survived by one son, Greg (Pam) Brenner, of Abilene, Texas, one daughter, Dawn (Don) Carriker, of Springfield, Missouri, four grandchildren, Cory and Hollande Brenner, Alex and Anthony Carriker, and a great-granddaughter, Jaide Brenner.  He is also survived by his stepchildren, DaWanda (Ed) Van Buskirk, Darrell Osmun, Dean Osmun, and DeVonn (Erma) Osmun, all of Bryan, Ohio, Delilah Smith, of Indianapolis, Indiana, nine stepgrandchildren, nine stepgreat-grandchildren, two sisters, Joyce Suffel and Shirley (Kenneth) Osmun, both of Bryan, Ohio, and one brother, James (Cindy) Brenner, of Stryker, Ohio.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Helen Kuszmaul, and one stepgrandson. Services for Thomas A. Brenner will be on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home at 860 West Mulberry Street in Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor James Adams officiating.  Interment will be in Shiffler Cemetery near Bryan, Ohio.  Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan, Ohio, after 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7. Memorials in the name of Thomas A. Brenner may be given to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
