Phyllis E. Dietrich, age 74, of Williams Center, Ohio, died at 5:44 P.M. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was a patient, after a two-month illness. Mrs. Dietrich was a 1954 graduate of Edon High School and was a longtime 4-H advisor. She attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Williams Center, Ohio, where she was active in the church and Ladies Aide. Phyllis E. Dietrich was born on May 24, 1936, in Edon, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Alice (Shearer) Hake. She married Richard A. Dietrich on February 26, 1955, in Edon, and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband, Richard, are two sons, Randy (Gayle) Dietrich, of Defiance, Ohio, and Roy Dietrich, of Fremont, California, and one daughter, Rhonda (Forest E. Tinney) Dietrich-Tinney, of Palm City, Florida, two grandsons, Anthony (Michelle) Dietrich, of Columbus, and Andrew Dietrich, of Defiance. Also surviving are two brothers, Roger (Dorothy) Hake, and Larry (Arlene) Hake, both of Edon, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Hake, of Edon. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Robert, Hollis and Leslie Hake. A reception celebrating the life of Phyllis E. Dietrich will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Rita's on the Square in Bryan. Memorials are requested to the M.O.D.E.L. Community School in Bryan or to the Defiance College Department of Autistic Education.
