Elsie R. Stambaugh, age 86, of Lexington Park Maryland, and formerly a longtime resident of Milton, Florida, died on Monday, September 17, 2007, at Bayside Care Center in Lexington Park after a brief illness. Mrs. Stambaugh was a graduate of Edgerton High School, a homemaker and was a resident of Milton, Florida, for forty-seven years. Elsie R. Stambaugh was born on June 25, 1921, in Eureka, Missouri, the daughter of Irwin G. and Theresia (Goebel) Haddix. She married Glen Charles Stambaugh and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1974. Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by a daughter, Glenda (Thomas L.) Phillips, of Chula Vista, California, two sons, Charles Stambaugh, of Lexington Park, Maryland, and Sam R. (C.J.) Stambaugh, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Sevilla Miller and Corda Curtis, both of Angola, Indiana, Viola Keller, of Edon, Ohio, and Grace Redmond, of Pace, Florida. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Services for Elsie R. Stambaugh will be on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorials for Elsie R. Stambaugh may be given to the Foundation for Alzheimers and Related Disorders.
