View Video Tribute Arland W.F. Hodapp, 81 years, of Bryan, died at 12:20 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2007, at the Dilworth Center of Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Montpelier, Ohio. A WWII Army veteran, Arland was a machinist at the former Aro Corporation for 32 years. He was a member of the First Brethren Church, Bryan, Ohio, and the Bryan American Legion Post #284. Arland W.F. Hodapp was born on April 26, 1925, in Piqua, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Clara (Eichler) Hodapp. He married Billie Lou Osborn and after 25 years of marriage, it ended in divorce. He then married Eloise Mae (Connell) Gilbert on March 19, 1977, in Bryan, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Eloise, Arland is survived by one daughter, Ann Lancaster, of Sturgis, Michigan; five sons, Lee (Gail) Hodapp, of Lexington, Kentucky, Larry Hodapp, of Montpelier, Ohio, Gary Hodapp, of Bryan, Ohio, Bill (Judy) Hodapp, of Bryan, Ohio, and Mike (Michelle) Hodapp, of Alvordton, Ohio; three stepsons, Rodney (Janet) Gilbert, of Bryan, Ohio, Jerry (Sheryl) Gilbert, of Archbold, Ohio, and Robert Gilbert, of Pioneer, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and seven stepgrandchildren; and one sister, Ruth (Phil) Doseck, of St. Marys, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Kathleen Hue and Geri Hodapp, a grandson, William “BJ” Hodapp, and one brother, Luther Joseph Hodapp. Funeral services for Arland W.F. Hodapp will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007, at the First Brethren Church, 13050 County Road C, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Sam Shultz officiating. Interment with military grave side rites provided by the Bryan American Legion Post #284 will follow in Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan. Visitation for Mr. Hodapp will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home and also one hour prior to services on Monday at the church. Memorials in the name of Arland W.F. Hodapp may be given to Community Hospital and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care or to First Brethren Church, Bryan, Ohio.
