Mildred V. Oberlin, age 91, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:10 A.M. on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, where she was a resident. Mrs. Oberlin was a 1937 graduate of Chesterfield High School and was employed as a spot welder at Beam Stream for thirteen years and worked with her husband on the family farm for the next forty-three years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan American Legion Post #284 Auxiliary, and was a former Sunday school teacher at Faith United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer and played any game to win. Mildred V. Oberlin was born on January 19, 1919, in Defiance County, Ohio, the daughter of Harry E. and Beulah B. (Buda) Ridenour. She married Cleo P. Buehrer on December 15, 1941, and he died in October of 1943 in Italy during World War II. She then married Ralph E. Oberlin on November 12, 1947, in Edgerton, Ohio, and preceded her in death on June 14, 2007. Surviving are a daughter, Calista P. Davis, of Marysville, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Gwen (Pastor Michael) Pope, of Fayette, Missouri; six grandsons, Dr. John (Lesley) Oberlin, of Chesterfield, Missouri, Todd Oberlin, of Columbia, Missouri, Allen (Sue) Davis, of West Salem, Ohio, Thomas Davis, Shawn Davis and Daniel Davis, all of Marysville, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Mason and MacKenzie Oberlin. She is also survived by two sisters, Fae (William) Musser and Lenore (Jack) Oxenrider, both of Bryan. Preceding her in death in addition to her husbands were her parents, one son, Rick Dwight Oberlin, and a brother, Lawrence Ridenour. Funeral services for Mildred V. Oberlin will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2010, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Paul Scannell officiating. Private interment will be at Farmer Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 A.M. Memorials in the name of Mildred V. Oberlin may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church.
