Wayne B. DeLong, Jr., also known as Junior, 64 years, of Bryan, died Monday, January 22, 2007 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, shortly after being admitted. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Wayne was a Construction Superintendent for over 41 years, working for the former Indiana Construction of Fort Wayne for 19 years, , Buesching Brothers Construction of Fort Wayne for 12 years and Mason Engineering, Fort Wayne, Indiana the past three years. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan and the Carpenters Local #372, Lima, Ohio. Wayne B. DeLong, Jr., was born on September 10, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Wayne B. and Velma M. (Peckhart) DeLong, Sr. He married Kathleen M. “Katie” Whitsel on April 16, 1966, in Bremen, Indiana, and she survives. In addition to his wife Katie, Wayne is survived by two daughters, Coleen DeLong of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Caren (Jack) Neal of Corpus Christi, TX.; three sons, Wayne (Lisa) DeLong, III of Buford, Georgia, Willard (Doris) DeLong of Bryan and 1st Lt. Walter (Erin) DeLong United States Army of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren, Tailor, Blayne, Ashley and Alex DeLong and Andrew Kramer; one brother, Jerry DeLong of Coldwater, MI.; three sisters, Christine (Richard) Miller of Defiance, Jacqualine (Tom) Herrington of Ney and Kathleen Shepherd of Kendallville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents. There will be no visitation or services. Private burial will take place in Brown Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. Arrangements by Krill Funeral Service, Bryan, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Wayne B. “Junior” DeLong, Jr., may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care.
