Evelyn M. McCarty, age 71, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2009, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Evelyn was happily employed by Dietrich's Industries, Hicksville, Ohio, for nineteen years. She was a member of the Butler, Indiana, Eagles Aerie #2733, a lifetime member of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the I.A.M. Union Association. Evelyn was an avid football "Patriots," Nascar, and Harley-Davidson fan. Evelyn M. McCarty was born on December 14, 1937, in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of Willis L. and Mary J. (Gump) Monroe. Evelyn is survived by three sons, Steve J. Oberlin, Michael L. (Terri Boucher) McCarty, and Mitchel (Laura M. Hutchins) McCarty, all of Edgerton, Ohio; two daughters, Charlene McCarty, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Christene (Marlin) Entenman, of Edgerton, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Gary McCarty, of Pensacola, Florida, Dallas Curry, of Ney, Ohio, Joshua and Corey McCarty, of Edgerton, Ohio, Skyler McCarty, of Bowling Green, Ohio, T.J. and Stephenie Kocis, of North Carolina, and Lindsey Ballard, of Garrett, Indiana; three great-grandchildren, Damon Bowen Coressel, Dallas Jacob Curry, and Chloe Mae Cook-McCarty; and five very much loved friends, Mary Waters, Vicki Taylor, Heather Gamble, Micha Sin, and Coral Martin. At Evelyn's request, there will be no services.
