Violet E. Robinson, age 88, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 2:25 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2007, in Harborside Healthcare Center of Northwest Ohio in Bryan, where she was a resident. Mrs. Robinson had been employed by Hayes-Albion 50 Division for twenty-five years until her retirement. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bryan and attended First Presbyterian Church in West Unity, Ohio. She was a member of County Cousins Home Extension Club, a former member of Bryan Garden Club, and was a volunteer at the Bryan Thrift Shop. Violet E. Robinson was born on October 19, 1919, in Kendallville, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Edith (Coats) Sherman. She married George Russell “Robby” Robinson on November 9, 1940, in Bryan, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1995. Mrs. Robinson is survived by one daughter, Gloria (John) Paine, of West Unity, one son, Dennis (Sally) Robinson, of Bryan, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Richard (Shirley) Sherman, of Lillian, Texas, and Walter “Jr.” (Gloria) Sherman, of Germfask, Michigan. Public grave side services for Violet E. Robinson will be held on Friday, November 16, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Shiffler Cemetery, rural Bryan, with Pastor Dorothy Richey-Moore officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home prior to the service. Memorials in the name of Violet E. Robinson may be given to First Presbyterian Church, West Unity, or to Harborside Lighthouse Unit for Alzheimer’s patients.
