Emma Jean Chrisman, age 82, formerly a long-time resident of Edon, Ohio, died at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2007, in Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, Kentucky, where she was a patient. Mrs. Chrisman was employed by Bryan Custom Plastics as a line inspector, retiring in 1990 with thirty-five years of service. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon, Ohio, and the Edon American Legion Auxiliary. Emma Jean Chrisman was born on March 29, 1925, in Montpelier, Ohio, the daughter of Dale Glover and Grace Mae (Duke) Knecht. She married Edgar Dale Chrisman on August 23, 1946, in Archbold, Ohio, and he preceded her in death in 2000. Mrs. Chrisman is survived by four daughters, Connie (Bill) Hatch, of Hurricane City, Utah, Cynthia Dora, of Tustin, California, Cathy (Mac) Johnson, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Betty (David) Hake, of Crocker, Missouri, one son, William Chrisman, of Angola, Indiana, twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by four sisters, her twin, Mary Jane Link, of Leesburg, Florida, Ruth Swank, of Edon, Ohio, Shirley Smith, of Englewood, Colorado, and Sally Schoonover, of Hamilton, Indiana. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy Knisley, Donna Kirkwood, Marjorie Rieke, June Lucas, and Caryl Hyland and one brother, Russell Knecht, a son-in-law, Roger Dora, and a great-grandson, Shae Benson. Services for Emma Jean Chrisman will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Donald Leckrone officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. Memorials in the name of Emma Jean Chrisman may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
