Elwyn L. Zumbaugh, age 62, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a sudden illness. Mr. Zumbaugh attended International Business College in Fort Wayne and was a 1972 graduate of St. Francis College, Fort Wayne. He was employed as a senior buyer at PHD Incorporated in Fort Wayne. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a member of John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion in Edgerton, of which he was a Past Commander. He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton and Knights of Columbus Council #1494. Elwyn L. Zumbaugh was born on September 28, 1946, in Plymouth, Indiana, the son of Merl and Eleanor (Reed) Zumbaugh. He married Jacquelyn A. Stryker on June 23, 1973, in Edgerton and she survives. Also surviving are one son, Jason Zumbaugh, of Edgerton, his mother, Eleanor Zumbaugh, and one sister, Sharon Miller, both of Warsaw, two nieces, three great-nephews and one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his father. Services for Elwyn L. Zumbaugh will be on Monday, May 18, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 p.m. Memorials in the name of Elwyn L. Zumbaugh may be given to St. Mary Catholic School, Edgerton.
