Catherine E. Flegal

Catherine E. Flegal, age 96, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:20 A.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, where she was a resident. Mrs. Flegal was a 1931 graduate of Edgerton High School and then graduated from St. Rita’s Nursing School in 1935 as a registered nurse. During her nursing career, she worked at Elmhurst Hospital in Angola, Indiana, and at Bryan Hospital in Bryan, Ohio. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, the Rosary Altar Society, and St. Rita’s Nursing School Alumni Association. Catherine E. Flegal was born on April 1, 1914, the daughter of Frank X. and Catherine (Coressel) Pahl. She married Ralph J. Flegal on June 18, 1938, in Edgerton and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1967. Mrs. Flegal is survived by two daughters, Martha Jane "Janie" (Marvin) Dietsch, of Edgerton, and Cheryl Ann (Don) Bailey, of Lake Tahoe, California; four sons, Thomas Flegal, of Eugene, Oregon, John (Pamela) Flegal, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Alan Flegal, of Angola, Indiana, and Paul (Terri) Flegal, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, David Dietsch, four brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. A scripture service will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Stephen Schroeder officiating. Visitation will also be held in the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 A.M. Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Indiana. Memorials may be given to St. Mary Church or Community Health Professionals of Williams and Fulton Counties Hospice Care.
