View Video Tribute Kenneth L. Heffelfinger, age 88, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Hillside Country Living near Bryan where he was a resident.. Mr. Heffelfinger, was a 1937 graduate of Hicksville High School and a lifelong farmer and elevator man. He was employed by the Bryan Elevator, the Thaman-Fox Elevator, Challenge Cook, the Edgerton Lumber Company and Williams Landmark from where he retired in 1985. He was affiliated with the Melbern United Methodist Church, the Farm Bureau and was an avid wood worker and gardener and the owner of Craftsman Lumber. Kenneth L Heffelfinger was born on November 24, 1918 in DeKalb County, Indiana, the son of Henry Wallace and Pearl (Bauer) Heffelfinger. He married Mary P. Chaney on September 15, 1942 in Hicksville, Ohio and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Michael (Marilyn) Heffelfinger, of Edon, Ohio, Richard ( Karen) Heffelfinger, of Reading, Michigan, John (Rebecca) Heffelfinger, of Bryan, Ohio, one daughter, Sue (Mike) Bowman, of Bryan, Ohio, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, and two brothers, Wendell (Clara) Heffelfinger, of Hicksville, Ohio and Darrell (Beverly) Heffelfinger, of Auburn, Indiana. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Heffelfinger. Services for Kenneth L. Heffelfinger will be on Monday, 26, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home at 860 West Mulberry Street in Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor Diane Schaffner officiating. Interment will follow in Six Corners Cemetery near Hicksville, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 25. Memorials in the name of Kenneth L. Heffelfinger may be given to the Melbern United Methodist Church.
