Betty J. McLain, age 84, of Edon, Ohio, died at 12:10 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2007, at Judy’s Kountry Care near Pioneer, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. McLain was a homemaker and lifelong area resident. Betty J. McLain was born on July 27, 1922, near Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer and Georgia (Blue) Clay. She married Ray J. “Joe” McLain on July 27, 1941, in Ney, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1999. Mrs. McLain is survived by two sons, Doug (Nancy) McLain, of Carthage, North Carolina, Jim (Sue) McLain, of Edon, Ohio, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Barbara (Gerald) Sack, of Bryan, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Clay. Services for Betty J. McLain will be on Friday, February 9, 2007, at 4:30 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Robert L. Young officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 1- 4 p.m. on Friday, prior to the service. Memorials in the name of Betty J. McLain may be given to Judy’s Kountry Care or to Hospice of Hillsdale County.
