Wallace K. Jones

View Video Tribute Wallace K. Jones, age 101, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 9:52 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier after a lengthy illness. Mr. Jones worked at The Aro Corporation and Spangler Candy Company for several years and then worked for Sinclair Pipeline Co., from where he retired in 1971. He then owned a lawn mowing business until 1996. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Montpelier, Montpelier Eagles and was a lifetime member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge. Wallace K. Jones was born on June 2, 1906, in Rankin, Illinois, the son of Addie (Patten) and Frank Jones. In 1928, he married Dolloris Strusaker, who preceded him in death. In 1947, he married Clara B. Dean, who also preceded him in death. Then in 1976, he married Margaret Ann Keller, who also preceded him in death. Mr. Jones is survived by one daughter, Judy Kelly, of Bryan, one sister, Gladys Borowski, of Bellevue, Ohio, a stepson, Tom (Kathy) Foster, of Bryan, two stepdaughters, Shirley Goldsmith, of Bryan, and Sue (Charles) Powell, of Ney, Ohio, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his three wives, a daughter, Lois Scantlen, a son, Paul, a granddaughter, Peggy Jones, and eight siblings. Services for Wallace K. Jones will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2007 , in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Reverend David Tilly officiating. Interment will be in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, immediately prior to the service. Memorials in the name of Wallace K. Jones may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Montpelier or to Evergreen Manor Nursing Home or to a charity of the donor’s choice..
