Warren E. Brace, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Sunday, July 15, 2007, in his residence. A United States Marine Corps veteran of WWII, Warren began his working career as a pattern maker for Maier Pattern Works for seven years. He then worked for the Bryan Post Office as a rural mail carrier for 28 1/2 years, retiring in 1981. He was a life member of the Bryan VFW Post 2489, the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 and the Bryan Moose Lodge 1064. Warren E. Brace was born on October 17, 1919, in Seattle, Washington, the son of Earl E. and Marion (Nelson) Brace. He married Joan R. Baker in 1984 in Bryan, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brace is survived by two sons, Kent (Barbara) Brace, of Camas, Washington, and Karl Brace, of Bryan; two stepdaughters, Patricia Haas, of Deerfield, Michigan, and Peggy Wilson, of Arizona; one stepson, Richard (Lena) Parks, of Laguna Nigiel, California; thirteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one half-sister, Delores Stumpfel, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, and one half-brother, Jimmy (Marty) Brace, of Montpelier. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Harriett (Thiel) Brace, his parents, one brother, Vern Brace, one sister, Kathleen Brace, and his stepmother, Nell Brace. Funeral services for Warren E. Brace will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Rev. Paul Scannell officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan, with military grave side rites conducted by the Bryan VFW Post 2489. Visitation for Mr. Brace will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorials in the name of Warren E, Brace may be given to the American Cancer Society.
