Joan L. Smith, age 56, of Edgerton, Ohio, and formerly of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed into the arms of God Saturday evening, December 23, 2017, at The University of Toledo Medical Center, surrounded by her family and loved ones. A graduate of Sylvania High School and Stautzenberger College, she had worked in medical administration as an admitting clerk at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio, for many years. She loved being active, taking long walks and enjoying nature. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren, Maddy and Calvin, along with all of her family.
Joan was born December 31, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of James and Jean (Zattau) Guyton.
Survivors include her son and daughter, Lewis (Casey) Smith, of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Laura (Daniel) Richter, of Brecksville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Maddy and Calvin; four sisters, her twin, Janet (Bill) Reynolds, of Edgerton, Kathy (Matthew) Brown, of Metamora, Ohio, Barbara (David) Garrett, of Whitehouse, Ohio, and Sandy Guyton, of Toledo, Ohio; her brother, Andy Guyton, of Sylvania, Ohio; and a special friend, Denny Custer.
In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time.
