James P. Biedenharn, age 61, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away at 3:58 A.M. on Sunday, November 26, 2017, in his home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous ten-year battle with brain cancer. Mr. Biedenharn was a 1974 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and graduated from The University of Toledo in 1978. He had been employed by Robinair Manufacturing in Montpelier, Ohio, for many years and would later retire from Braun Industries in Van Wert, Ohio, as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Jim enjoyed woodworking, gardening, running, and in recent years writing and his monthly meeting with fellow writers at the Bryan Library. He was also a huge fan of March Madness.
James P. Biedenharn was born on February 4, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of James J. and Mary (Englert) Biedenharn. He married Laura L. Noward on September 9, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Amy Biedenharn, of Chicago, Illinois; one son, Pete (Jessica) Biedenharn, of Clinton, Iowa; his mother, Mary Biedenharn, of Lima, Ohio; two brothers, Bill (Mary Jo) Biedenharn, of Richmond, Virginia, and Tom (Jennifer) Biedenharn, of Columbus, Ohio; and two sisters, Linda (Bill) Gephart, of Lima, and Peggy (Tim) Klopfenstein, of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Through his years, Jim, nicknamed “Superman,” was loved and supported by his extended family of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and one niece, Jenny Gephart.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Interment will take place at a later date in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
