Forrest Lavon Suffel, age 99, of Port St. Lucie, Florida and formerly of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017, at Life Care Center in Port St. Lucie. Forrest was a field supervisor at Chicago Bridge & Iron when he retired in 1978 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Edgerton Church of Christ, Salaam Temple Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and F&AM Lodge 357.
Forrest Lavon Suffel was born near Edgerton, Ohio, on July 30, 1918, the son of William and Mina May (Long) Suffel. He married Jenny L. Woolace on November 9, 1938. They were married for 51 years when she preceded him in death on February 5,1990. He later married Dorothy R. Lerch and she survives in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Survivors also include his daughter, Lorraine Miller, of Port St. Lucie; granddaughters, Lindsey, Caitlin and Kyra; a sister, Rozella Cape, of Edgerton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jenny and brothers, Maurice and Kenneth Suffel.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton with Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton.
