Alfred R. Cornell, age 92, of Edon, Ohio, passed away at 12:09 A.M. on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at his home. Alfred was the owner of Tri-State Machining and Cornell Farms. He was a member of the Edon United Methodist Church and entertained many people over the years as a member of a barbershop quartet. Alfred R. Cornell was born on May 1, 1925 in Edgerton, the son of Reginald C. and Salome (Williams) Cornell. He graduated from Edgerton High School. He married Marjorie Allomong and she preceded him in death. He later married Maxine Cobbs in 1990 in Van Buren, Arkansas and she survives. Also surviving are his son Galen (Vickie) Cornell, of Edon; daughter, Marcia Cornell, of Toledo; grandchildren, Jason and Devin Payne, of Edgerton and Teea Vogelsong and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Marjorie. Visitation for Alfred will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation with Pastor Doug Widdowson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
