Roger L. Gardner, age 68, of Nettle Lake, Ohio, died at 12:10 P.M. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at his home. Mr. Gardner was a construction carpenter and U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam war. He attended Alvarado United Methodist Church.
Roger L. Gardner was born on August 24, 1948, in Norton, Virginia, the son of Edwin and Vonda (Icemon) Gardner. He married Karen Seslar in August of 1973 and she survives.
Survivors also include sons, Roger (Tanya) Gardner, Jr., of Edgerton, Ohio, and Jeremy (Lottie) Gardner, of Auburn, Indiana; daughters, Rachel (Mike) Fitch, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Jennifer Gardner, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; eight grandchildren; brothers, Joe Gardner, of Orlando, Florida, and Dwain (Nola) Gardner, of Hicksville, Ohio; and sisters, Peggy Brock, of Wise, Virginia, and Glenda Bentley, of Hurt, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Jeanette Sulfridge and Wilma Bentley.
Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Services will be held immediately following the visitation with Pastor Lucretia Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by the Bryan V.F.W. Post 2489 and U.S. Army Honor Guard.
Memorials are requested to the Alvarado United Methodist Church or Community Health Professionals Hospice.
