Violet A. Stotz, age 84, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center in Bryan, Ohio, after an extended illness. Mrs. Stotz was a 1950 graduate of Edgerton High School and worked as a secretary for Edgerton Local Schools for a number of years. She owned and operated the Fashion Post clothing store in Edgerton in the 1970s and then went on to work for Hawk’s Clothing in Bryan for more than twenty-five years until her retirement. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Edgerton and also attended the Edgerton Church of Christ. Vi loved her collection of frog memorabilia and glass items with violet flowers.
Violet A. Stotz was born on July 7, 1932, the daughter of Vernon and Marguerite (Fiig) Hall. She married Richard E. “Bud” Stotz on February 21, 1951, in Edon Ohio, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1993.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Kathe) Stotz, of Edgerton, Bradley (Allyn) Stotz, of Granbury, Texas, and Steven Stotz, of Edgerton; two daughters, Cheryl (David) Baughman, of Auburn, Indiana, and Diane (Dale) Bartholomew, of Brentwood, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Brandon (Nikki) Stotz, Andrew (Nicole) Stotz, Kimberly Bartholomew, and Kathryn Bartholomew; five great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Adeline Stotz, and Lilly, Clara and Ally Stotz; and her longtime companion and fiance, Willard Hollinger. She was also preceded in death by her father, Vernon Hall; her mother and stepfather, Marguerite and Ralph Miller; and two sisters, Elsie and Eileen.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2017, from 2:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Kurt Letcher officiating. The family will receive visitors in the church for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
