Leota M. Partee, age 90, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 5:10 A.M. on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier, where she was a resident. Mrs. Partee had been employed at Universal Tool in Butler, Indiana, for twenty years and then by Bohn Aluminum in Butler, from where she retired after thirty years of service. She was a devoted member of Mount Union Christian Union Church in Cooney, Ohio, and enjoyed playing Bingo and other games, gardening, fishing, especially for salmon, and traveling with her husband while he was trucking. She also enjoyed talking on her CB with the handle of “Lonely Dove.”
Leota M. Partee was born on February 9, 1927, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Oplinger) Stickney. She married James L. Partee on January 2, 1980, in Edgerton, Ohio, and he survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, David (Kathy) Schooley and Larry (Shirley) Schooley, both of Hicksville, Ohio, and Joe (Laura) Schooley, of Longview, Texas; one daughter, Linda (Fred) Knupp, of Floral City, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren: her stepchildren, Terry Partee, Rick (Heidi) Partee, and Darlene Mueller, all of Defiance, Ohio, and Larry Partee; six step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Norman Stickney, of Piney Flats, Tennessee.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Dana Viers officiating. Visitation will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, on Thursday, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be in Billingstown Cemetery, near Edon.
Memorials are requested to Mount Union Christian Union Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
