Lelah J. (Cook) Gilbert, age 90, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Fountain Park Assisted Living in Bryan. She had retired from Allied Moulded and had work as a cook at the former Lamar’s Restaurant in Bryan. Lelah was a wonderful cook, enjoyed bingo and crossword puzzles, was an avid bible reader and a Christian lady.
Lelah was born on October 16, 1926, in Montpelier, Ohio, the daughter of Albert E. and Josephine Y. (Clark) Cook. She is survived by her children, Judson (Nancy) Altaffer, of Bryan, Dianne (Ernie) Camarillo, of Bryan, Debbie Altaffer, of Bryan, Frank Gilbert, of Angola, Indiana and Clifford (Lisa) Gilbert, of Bryan; step sons, Rodney (Janet) Gilbert, of Bryan, Bob Gilbert, of Montpelier and Jerry Gilbert, of Fayette; daughter-in-law, Caroline Altaffer, of Montpelier; 12 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; many great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Hank “Sonny” Altaffer and Joseph Altaffer; a grandson, Lee Altaffer and 10 brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Lelah J. Gilbert will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Stiver officiating. Burial will in Shiffler Cemetery will follow the services.
