Bennett Dean “Ben” Bartley, age 77, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio, where had been a resident. Mr. Bartley was a veteran of the United States Army and had been employed by The Aro Corporation in Bryan, retiring with more than thirty years of service. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, hunting pheasant, and carpentry and for awhile remodeling homes for resale.
Bennett Dean “Ben” Bartley was born on June 29, 1939, in Rockhouse, Kentucky, the son of Howard Dexter and Kelsie Mae (Holbrook) Bartley. He married Patricia Ann Stewart on July 28, 1963, in Pike County, Kentucky, and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Bennett Jerome (Kristine) Bartley, of Edgerton, Ohio; two daughters, Anna Deneen Bartley and Jennifer Michelle (Raymond) Tarkington, both of Bryan; five grandchildren, Kelsie and Kayla Bartley, and Hayden, Blake and Leland Tarkington; and his siblings, Bob Harper, Harold Bartley, Darrell Bartley, Ginny Bartley, Stevie Clevenger, Randy Bartley, Danny Bartley, Ricky Bartley and Donna Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at New Life Worship Center in Bryan. Services will follow, beginning at 1:00 P.M. in New Life Worship Center with Raymond Tarkington and Paul Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489 and the States Army Honor Guard.
