Lewis F. Arnold, age 84, of Edon, Ohio, died at 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio, where he was a patient. Mr. Arnold was a graduate of the Gallia Academy and attended Tri-State University and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Local #1581 in Napoleon, Ohio. His memberships included the Edon United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Men, and the United Methodist Nomads, and he was also a former member of the Edon Lions Club. Throughout the years, Lewis and his wife, Carolyn, hosted numerous foreign exchange students and were still in contact with five of them.
Lewis F. Arnold was born on November 18, 1932, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son August and Elizabeth (Bartels) Arnold. He married Carolyn J. Payne on October 1, 1960, in Edgerton and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Eric (Angel) Arnold and Andrew Arnold, both of Edon; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Ann Arnold and Kathryn (Gene) Riblet, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Carolyn Shaw, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon. Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016, at 1:30 P.M. in the Edon United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Widdowson and Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery.
