Paul K. Mitchell, age 88, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:29 A.M. on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance after an extended illness. Mr. Mitchell was a 1946 graduate of Paulding High School and in the United States Army from 1950-1952, stationed with a MASH unit in Korea with the rank of Corporal. He was employed by Bryan Custom Plastics as a tool and die maker retiring in 1996, with forty-two years of service. He also was a longtime farmer. Mr. Mitchell was member of the Farm Bureau, the Paulding County Genealogical Society. He enjoyed going to flea markets, auctions and tractor shows and as well as ice fishing, camping and cutting wood.
Paul K. Mitchell was born on September 6, 1928, in Crane Township of Paulding, County, Ohio, the son of Leon E. and Edna (Huss) Mitchell. He married his wife of sixty-two years, Kathleen J. Cooley, on December 3, 1954, in Bryan and she survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his three children, Merril (Linda) Mitchell, Gayland (Toni) Mitchell and Myrna Mitchell, all Bryan; seven grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Corey, Jeff, John, Shaina, and Jaelina Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Steinberger, of Defiance, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Angie Mitchell; two sisters, Irene Winners and Mary Brezovacki; and one brother, Howard Mitchell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016, at 1:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Jeff Brookins officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489.
