Lewis H. Linneman, age 101, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home at 8:21 A.M. on Friday, September 23, 2016. Mr. Linneman attended school in Celina, Ohio, and after working at Optical Assembly he moved to Bryan and opened Russell’s Men’s Store in 1948 with Russ Kessen and owned and operated the store until his retirement in 1986. He made his home in Bryan and also had a home for many years in Lake Placid, Florida. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (B.P.O.E.) and was a former member of Orchard Hills Country Club. Lew was an avid golfer, playing up until about a year ago, an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and he enjoyed traveling as he and his wife, Stella, traveled extensively all over the world.
Lewis H. Linneman was born on July 22, 1915, in Montezuma, Ohio, the son of Frank and Mary (Klosterman) Linneman. He married Stella Mae Weber on November 12, 1951, and she preceded him in death on October 22, 2005. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon, and two sisters, Marcella “Toddy” Eilerman and Bernice Reichert. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and his very good friend, Mary Frea.
At Lew’s request there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan. Interment and committal services will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Celina on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 1:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid, Florida, or to Community Health Professionals Hospice Care.
