Bette J. Unger, age 83, of Bryan, Ohio, a lifelong resident of the Bryan area, died at 8:22 A.M. on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center after an extended illness. Mrs. Unger had been employed by the 50 Corporation and later at AirWay Manufacturing until her retirement. Bette was an accomplished seamstress and loved her dogs Sadie and Max.
Bette Jane Unger was born on March 2, 1933, in Bryan, the daughter of Clarence and Isabelle (Shaffer) Carlin, Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Craig) Bok, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Carol (Bedford) Dubree, of Bryan; one son, Carl (Laurie) Unger, Jr. of Melbern, Ohio; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Charlene) Carlin, of Bryan; and one sister, Susann Kipp, of Holgate, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy M. Unger, in 1978; three brothers, Dennis, Jerold and Clarence Jr. Carlin; one sister, Barbara Whitlock; and her former husband, Carl Krill “Duffy” Unger, Sr.
Visitation for Bette J. Unger will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Private interment will be in Williams Center Cemetery.
Memorials are requested to be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Williams County Humane Society.
