John Adam Smith, Jr.

John A. Smith, Jr., age 71, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 9:15 P.M. on Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient. Mr. Smith was a long time employee of Fleetwood Industries in Edgerton where he worked until the plant closed. He was an avid fisherman and shuffleboard player and enjoyed hunting. John A. Smith, Jr. Was born on September 10, 1944, in Wauseon, Ohio, the son of John A. and Leona (Marry) Smith, Sr. He married Brenda Joyce Koch on December 23, 1990, in Holiday City, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on November 15, 2014. Survivors include one son, Lonnie (Lorraine) Smith, of Edgerton; one daughter, Lori (David) Cohen, of Hampton, Virginia; and a stepson, Steve (Karen) Krontz, of Gahanna, Ohio; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Patten, of Bryan, Ohio and Norma Smith, of Winter Haven , Florida; and one brother, Denny (Deb) Smith, of Montpelier, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016, from 1:00-4:00 P.M. at AmVets Post #54, 222 Page Street, in Bryan. Private interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Bryan AmVets Post #54.
