Jimmy Gene Penn, age 79, of Toledo, Ohio, died at 7:10 P.M. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, shortly after admittance to Mercy St. Anne’s Hospital in Toledo after a sudden illness. Mr. Penn was a former member of the Ohio National Guard and had worked for Medussa Portland Concrete Company for twenty-three years and then for Temple B’nai Israel for nineteen years until his retirement. Jimmy was a jack-of-all-trades type guy who enjoyed helping his many friends and others unconditionally. His latest love was his involvement with Cedar Creek Church. Jimmy Gene Penn was born on February 6, 1937, in Monclova Township, Ohio, the son of Clarence and Mina (Simmons) Penn. He is survived by two daughters, Tracy Penn, of Toledo, and Sherry (Michael) Flahiff, of Walbridge, Ohio; two granddaughters, Nicole Lynn (Randolph II) Ross and Adeline Catherine Flahiff; two great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; five brothers, Ronald Penn, of Brooksville, Florida, and Luckey, Aaron, Keenan and Nikki Penn, all of Toledo; and one sister, Nadine Zinteck, of Toledo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Mickey Penn; and two sisters, Candace Sue Penn and Donna Camp. In keeping with Jimmy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. Memorials in the name of Jimmy G.
