Eldon L. Runyan, age 77, of rural Edon, Ohio, died at 6:41 P.M. on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health Center in Jackson, Michigan. Eldon worked as a machinist at Powers & Sons and had delivered milk for Bowman’s Dairy earlier. He loved working carnivals and did so for over 38 years. Eldon was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge and the Outdoor Amusement Businesses of America. He enjoyed hunting, camping, bowling and racing in his younger days and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Eldon L. Runyan was born on April 3, 1939, in Montpelier, Ohio, the son of Leo and Geraldine (Roth) Runyan. He married Phyllis M. Krill on February 6, 1971, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives. Eldon is also survived by his children, Debra (Russ) Platt, of Waldron, Michigan, Judith (Bill) Losey, of Brooklyn, Michigan, Todd (Angie) Runyan, of Edon, Toby (Jane) Runyan, of Bryan, and Tracy (Shawn) Brandeberry, of Bryan; grandchildren, Kristen, C.J., Melissa, Hayden, Jordan, Austin and Dakota; great-granddaughters, Aleah, Marley and Alexis; and siblings, Nardine (Don) Borton, of Florida, Dale (Carol) Runyan, of Camden, Michigan, and Alydthe Perry, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Cory Losey, and sister, Delma Runyan.
Visitation for Eldon L. Runyan will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Burial will follow at Edon Cemetery.
