Wayne Allen Ross

Wayne Allen Ross, age 87, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 4:25 P.M. on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan after a brief illness. Mr. Ross was employed as a machinist with G.M. Powertrain in Defiance, Ohio, and retired with thirty-two years of service. He was a longtime member of Bryan Alliance Church, where he had served as a board member and deacon and also taught Sunday School for many years. He enjoyed traveling and gardening and especially being with his family. Wayne Allen Ross was born on June 29, 1929, in Butler, Indiana, the son of Fedelia A. “Al” and Lillian (Isenbarger) Ross. He married Elaine Vincent on January 2, 1950, and she preceded him in death on August 27, 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn (James) Allion, of Bryan, and Patricia (Jim) Zurbrugg, of Hamler, Ohio; two sons, David (Virginia) Ross, of Bryan, and Lavon (Margaret) Ross, of Adrian, Michigan; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ilo Wieland and Dolly Wiler, both of Bryan. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jean Ross, and one sister, Emma Girrell. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Bryan Alliance Church, 220 Fountain Grove Drive, Bryan, with Pastor Jon Chase officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorials are requested to Bryan Alliance Church.
