Billy S. Burk, age 59, of Kunkle, Ohio, went home to be with his heavenly Father at 3:51 P.M. on Sunday, June 19, 2016, in his home surrounded by his family. Billy was a loader at International Paper where he worked for 29 years, prior to his retirement. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Pistons. He was also an avid bowler.
Billy S. Burk was born on June 4, 1957, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Elmer E. and Marjorie J. (Farris) Burk. He married Martha J. Munger on August 3, 2004 in Coldwater, Michigan and she survives.
Billy is also survived by his children, Billie (Joe) Payne, of Quincy, Michigan, Brian A. Burk, of Montpelier, Leslie (Billy) Harris, of Bryan, Sarah (Kyle) Pettit, of Bryan and Wesley (Crystal) Nickles, of Montpelier; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Burk, of Marshall, Michigan; sisters, Debra (Terry) Clark, of Coldwater, Becky (Tim) Greeley, of Florida, Lori (Jeff) Weaver, of Coldwater and former spouse, Christine Burk. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael Burk and sister, Sandra Fields.
A service celebrating the life of Billy S. Burk will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Church of the Holy Spirit in Coldwater, Michigan, with Reverend Kathleen Guise officiating. The family will receive visitors from 10:30-11:00 A.M. prior to the service in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Church of the Holy Spirit.
