Richard L. Jones, age 69, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:25 A.M. on Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Advanced Specialty Hospitals of Toledo, where he had been a patient. He was a finisher at The Aro Corporation/Ingersoll Rand and New Era with over 40 years of service prior to his retirement in 2010. He served as a volunteer fireman for the City of Bryan for 19 years. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam era. He was a life member of the Bryan American Legion Post 284, the Bryan VFW Post 2489, and the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge 312. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Richard L. Jones was born on May 1, 1947, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Ford and Mary (Miller) Jones. Mr. Jones is survived by his son, James (Martha) Jones, of Bryan; grandchildren, Jake (Kat) Jones, of Bowling Green, Ohio, Scott Jones, of Bowling Green, and Emily Jones, of Bryan; and his sisters, Arlean Jackman, of Cecil, Ohio, and Shirley (Loyd) Quillen, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his father, Ford (Norma) Jones, and mother, Mary Claypole.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Funeral services will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, on Friday, May 27, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Michael Slagle officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery with grave side military rites provided by the Bryan VFW Post 2489 and the U.S. Army.
Memorials in the name of Richard L. Jones may be given to the organization of the donor’s choice.
