Douglas V. Stoufer, age 63, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 8:05 A.M. on Friday, March 25, 2016, at his home after an eight-month battle with cancer. Doug was a material handler at Bard Manufacturing for 35 years. He was a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233 and the Montpelier Moose Lodge. Doug was a huge fan of University of Michigan football. He enjoyed growing flowers and house plants, slot machines and spending time with his dog, Buttons.
Doug was born on December 12, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Ned C. and Irene I. (Sines) Stoufer. He was a graduate of Defiance High School. Doug is survived by his mother, Irene Stoufer, of Bryan; brothers, Dan (Liz) Stoufer, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Dennis Stoufer, of Bryan; his aunt, Joyce Keeterle, of Defiance, Ohio; and uncle, Bernard “Butch” Sines, of Ney, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Ned Stoufer.
A time for friends to gather to remember Doug will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, from 3:00-5:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
The family requests donations in memory of Doug be made to the Defiance County Humane Society.
