Maxell D. “Max” Pringle, age 78, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly a longtime resident of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 5:55 P.M. on March 18, 2016, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, where he was a patient, after a brief illness. Mr. Pringle was a 1955 graduate of Nashville High School in Nashville, Ohio, and worked as a dairy farmer for 14 years. He was then employed by Continental General Tire in Bryan, where he helped form the Rubber Workers Union which then merged with United Steel Workers forming Local #890, of which he was longtime president. He retired with 33 ½ years of service. He was active in the Edgerton community, serving as president of the Athletic Boosters during the construction of the Edgerton High School football field and football complex. He also was a member of the Edgerton Church of Christ, Bryan Eagles, Aerie #2233, Suburban Golf Course and the Williams County Coon Hunters Association. He was an avid golfer and fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
Maxell D. Pringle was born on May 23, 1937, in Sand Run, West Virginia, the son of Doyle and Lena (Harmon) Pringle. He married Marlene F. McClure on May 5, 1957, in Nashville, Ohio, and she survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Colleen Hamman, of Edgerton; three sons, Chris (Shari) Pringle, of Edgerton, Gary (Christi) Pringle, of Middlebury, Indiana, and Jim (Kim) Pringle, of Bryan; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin (Joyce) Pringle, of Perrysville, Ohio, and Bud Pringle, of Millersburg, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Lorna Pringle, of Clarksburg, West Virginia; a former daughter-in-law, Teresa Pringle, of Butler, Indiana; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald and Arlie Pringle; and two sisters-in-law, Louise and Lois Pringle.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. Services will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. with Rick Stiver officiating. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.
