Wanda Bacon, age 94, of Bryan, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Fayette, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance, Ohio. Mrs. Bacon worked for many years in the cafeteria for the Fayette Schools. Wanda was born on June 15, 1921, in Fayette, the daughter of William and Myrtle (Ritter) Hippert. On November 10, 1939, she married John E. Bacon in Wauseon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2015. Wanda is survived by her son, Stanley Bacon, of Bryan; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Raymond Ritter, Donald Hippert and Merle Hippert, and sisters, Gwendoline O’Neal, Dorothy Hippert and Ila Bechtol. Funeral services for Wanda Bacon will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery, Fayette. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 P.M. prior to the service on Wednesday. The family requests memorial donations to the Williams County Humane Society.
