Joseph Anthony Bost, age 72, of Bryan, Ohio, and recently of Cedar Park, Texas, passed on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at New Hope Manor. Mr. Bost retired from General Motors in Defiance after 26 years of service. He later worked as a security guard at Defiance College and drove cars for Integrity Motors. Joseph was a US Navy veteran and served for three years after graduating from Great Lakes Naval Training Station near Chicago. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and fishing, but greatest joy was his dog Brutus, named for the Ohio State Buckeyes’ mascot. Joseph A. Bost was born on September 28, 1943, in Napoleon, Ohio, the son of Donald Ray and Florence Mary (Smith) Bost. He attended Napoleon High School, where he played football and was a champion wrestler. He married Sylvia M. (Roy) and she survives in Bryan. Joseph is also survived by his daughters, Shonda (Eddie) Jewell, of Columbus, Ohio, Shannon Gambino, of Cedar Park, Texas and Leslie (Michael) Graff, of Austin, Texas; step daughter, Catherine Forbes, of Clanton, Alabama; stepson, Curtis (Charissa) Miller, of Hicksville; six grandchildren, nine step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; brothers, David (Carloyn) Bost, Steve (Amy) Bost, Tony Bost and Bill (Linda) Bost; sisters, Marjorie (Abe) Tussinger and Jeanette Banks and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Larry and Paul Bost, and one sister, Rosalie Glass. A memorial service celebrating the life of Joseph A. Bost will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. in the Living Hope Free Methodist Church, 1051 West Jackson Street, West Unity, with Pastor David Mathis officiating. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. The family requests memorial donations be given to the Living Hope Free Methodist Church Building Fund.
