Janet H. Bonifas, age 79, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away early Thursday, February 25, 2016, at her winter home in Lakeport, Florida. Mrs. Bonifas was a graduate of Coldwater High School in Coldwater, Ohio. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, the Rosary Altar Society and Red Hats of Florida in Lakeport. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was also an avid reader, excellent seamstress, a“fantastic”cook, and was faithful to her Catholic faith. Janet was especially proud that she had her seven-gallon blood donor pin. Janet H. Bonifas was born on February 9, 1937, in Celina, Ohio, the daughter of Leonard and Anna (Kramer) Klosterman. She married her high school sweetheart, Dennis L. Bonifas, on July 13, 1957, in Coldwater and he survives. Survivors also include their five children, Alan (Janet M.) Bonifas, of Swanton, Ohio, Jo Ann (Richard) Witsaman, Steven Bonifas, Denise (Douglas) Stark, all of Edgerton, and Dean Bonifas, of Hudson, Michigan; eight grandchildren, Dennis Alan and Katie Ann Bonifas, Leslie Ann Siebenaler and Lyndsi Lee Witsaman, Benjamin Dean and Ian Alexander Bonifas, and Walter A. Rush III and Travis Ethan Rush; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Melvin Klosterman, of Ocala, Florida, and Roger Klosterman, of The Villages, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hayward-Bonifas; one sister, Lavaun Schwartz; and two brothers, Bud and Leonard Klosterman. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, with recitation of the rosary at 8:00 P.M. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating. Visitation will also be held in the church for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Edgerton. Memorials are requested to St. Jude Hospital or to St. Mary School.
