David L. Lovejoy, age 59, of Kunkle, Ohio, died at 1:42 A.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015, in his home after an brief illness. A longtime resident of California, Mr. Lovejoy had moved to Ohio in 2009 with his parents, staying with them for five years. He has been employed by Reifel Industries in Pioneer, Ohio. A loving son, father, grandfather and companion, he was also an avid fan of NASCAR and Sprint car racing. David L. Lovejoy was born on July 11, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Gerald and Patricia (Ayres) Lovejoy. Survivors include one daughter, Christine Lovejoy, of San Jose, California; one son, David Lovejoy, of Morgan Hill, California; one grandson, Caleb L. Lovejoy; his parents, Patti (Norman) Balbontin, of Bryan, Ohio, and Gerald (Donna) Lovejoy, in South Carolina; his longtime companion, Thelma “T.J.” Sharp, of Kunkle; and her children, whom he was a father figure to, Brandon Kendra, Brittany Sharp, Casey Sharp and Dakota Sharp. A memorial service celebrating the life of David L. Lovejoy will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will be held in the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. The family requests that you wear your favorite racing shirt or jacket to the celebration of life service in David’s memory.
