Elizabeth “Liz” Mihuc, age 92, of Blakeslee, Ohio, died at 10:56 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2015, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers-Bryan, where she had been a patient. Affectionately known as “Nanny” to her family, Mrs. Mihuc was a hard-working, devoted farm wife who worked alongside her husband on the family farm near Edgerton. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and was known for her extraordinary cooking skills, especially when preparing tasty Hungarian dishes. Elizabeth Mihuc was born on June 20, 1923, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of George and Theresa (Asztolos) Sito. She married Paul Edward Mihuc on January 27, 1940, in Bryan, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1978. Survivors include one daughter, Rosemary (Lyle) Hug, of Bryan; one son, David (Gwen) Mihuc, of Edgerton; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe (Ethel) Sito, of Bryan; and one sister, Margaret Wieland, also of Bryan. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Steven, Julius and John Sito; and three sisters, Irene Sule, Mary Ankney and Theresa Nagy. A memorial service celebrating the life of Elizabeth Mihuc will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the Zion Evangelical Church near Edgerton with Pastor Kurt Letcher officiating. Memorials are requested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
