Robert J. Evans

Robert J. Evans, age 83, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:10 A.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Sandusky, Ohio, where he had been a resident. Mr. Evans retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sargent with over 20 years of service. He was a Management Engineer and Computer Specialist with the Air Force. He was a Life Member of the Bryan VFW Post #2489. Robert J. Evans, was born on February 22, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the son of John V. and Opal F. (Mainard) Evans. He married Alice J. (Conkey) Ferrebee on May 25, 1985, at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2013. Robert is survived by a two sons, Robert J. (Jeanne) Evans in Stewartsville, New Jersey and Tommy G. (Jan) Evans in Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter, Joyce K. Haferman, of Monterey, California; step-daughter, Ann Burrows, of Edgerton, Ohio, two step-sons, Michael Ferrebee, of Sommerville, New Jersey, and Mark (Donna) Ferrebee, of Edgerton, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchild and a sister, Helen M. Evans in Bryan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Evans; three step-daughters, Barbara Ellen Ferrebee, Caryl Roesti and Martha Trausch, one step-son, Steven D. Ferrebee; one step-grandson, James Browning; brothers, John, Frank, Bainard and Tom Evans and a sister, Charlene Evans. Funeral services for Robert J. Evans will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 10, 2015, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Visitation will held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Farmer Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489. Memorials may be given to Community Health Professionals Home Health and Hospice.
