Jack E. Jennings

Jack E. Jennings, age 91, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 12:05 A.M. on Thursday, November 26, 2015, in his home after a brief illness. Mr. Jennings was a 1942 graduate of Edgerton High School and served with the United States Army during World War II as a cryptographer in China and India and along the Burma Road. He was a longtime employee of Dana Corporation and also worked at Truss Components in Edgerton and retired from Oren Elliott Products in Edgerton. He loved to fish and was an avid golfer. Jack E. Jennings was born on July 20, 1924, in Sylvania, Ohio, the son of Donald Lester and Carrie Elizabeth (Edwards) Jennings. Survivors include three daughters, Sandy Randles, of Edgerton, Deb (Bill) Nester, of Edon, Ohio, and Penny (Dennis) Smith, of Edgerton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one niece, Jill Hites, of Hillsdale, Michigan, and his companion, Nancy Thiel. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard L. Jennings. In keeping with Jack’s wishes, there will be no services and his body has been gifted to the University of Toledo Medical College. Private interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Community Health Professionals Hospice, especially his nurses, Cindy and Corey.
