Edgar "Paul" P. Daugherty

Edgar P. “Paul” Daugherty, age 91, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the Inn and Villas at Fountain Park, where he had been a resident. Mr. Daugherty was a member of First Baptist Church in Bryan. He was a graduate of Farmer High School and was a World War II veteran, serving in the Merchant Marine and the U.S. Army. Paul was a lifelong farmer and devoted John Deere man. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan and the Farmer American Legion. Edgar P. Daugherty was born on July 8, 1924, in Arthur, Illinois, the son of Lee and Flonnie (Stigall) Daugherty. He married Mildred E. (Etchey) Porath on May 7, 1971, in Coldwater, Michigan, and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2014. Paul is survived by his children, Sherri Green, of Bryan, and Stanton Daugherty, of Armonk, New York; stepchildren, Linda (Dean) Caryer, of Sherwood, Ohio, Lynn “Ed” (Marcia) Porath, of Sherwood, Sheri (John) McCoy, of Defiance; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene “Bill” (Sandy) Daugherty, of Bryan; and sister, Creta Bennett, of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred E. Daugherty; daughter, Cynthia Clifton; stepdaughter, Sally Rast; and brother, Edwin Daugherty. Funeral services for Edgar P. “Paul” Daugherty will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, in the First Baptist Church with Pastor John MacFarlane officiating. Burial will follow at Farmer Cemetery, where grave side military rites will be presented by the Farmer American Legion. Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, November 23, 2015, at First Baptist Church and again on Tuesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials in the name of Edgar P. “Paul” Daugherty may be given to First Baptist Church.
