Donald E. Stratton, age 74, of Bryan, Ohio, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family at 6:11 P.M. on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan after a brief illness. Mr. Stratton was employed early in his career at the Kroger Store in Bryan and then worked at The Ohio Art Company, retiring with thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of First Brethren Church, Bryan, and formerly belonged to the Bryan Eagles and Bryan Moose Lodge. He and his wife were avid campers at Hickory Acres in Edgerton, was known to be an excellent cook and enjoyed the art of quilting. Most of all, Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a friend to all he met. Donald E. Stratton was born on December 12, 1940, the son of Clyde Eugene and Lydia Catherine (Hughes) Stratton. He married Josephine J. Ensman on August 12, 1961, in Stryker, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lydia (Steve) Fritch and Tammy Sines, both of Edgerton, Ohio; one son, Philip Stratton, of Hicksville, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Matthew Stratton, Alex Sines, Travis (Brianna) Stratton, Luke Sines, Brent Sines, Heidi Sines, Leiah Fritch and Madissen Fritch; one great-grandson, Kole; one brother, Edward (Valeria) Stratton, of Bryan; two sisters, Carolyn McNanny, of Williams Center, Ohio, and Darlene Lawson, of Pikesville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clyde Stratton. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2015, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Brent Sloan officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorials are requested to First Brethren Church or the American Heart Association.
