Henry C. Wohltmann, Jr., age 91, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:05 P.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio. Mr. Wohltmann was born on April 21, 1924, in Wellen, Germany, the son of Henry C. and Metta (Bassen) Wohltmann, Sr. He immigrated through Ellis Island with his parents in 1928 and grew up on Long Island, in Islip, New York, working with his father in ice cream parlors throughout that area. He also drove charter bus for many years before moving to Ohio in 1972. He operated the Dairy Wood in Stryker, Ohio, for three years in 1972, 1973 and 1974 and then purchased the Bryan News Stand, operating it from 1975-1991, retiring in 1992. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, was a member of New Hope Community Church in Bryan and was an avid golfer. Henry married Elizabeth Meyer on September 11, 1954, and she preceded him in death on March 9, 1992. He then married Juanita (Petitt) Floor on May 15, 1993, and she survives. Survivors also include two daughters, Paula (Jeff) Anderson and Janice Wohltmann, both of Bryan; one grandson, Jason Winward; three granddaughters, Rachel Winward, Jessica Ahart and Michelle Anderson; two great-grandsons, Jayme and Jeremy Ahart; two great-granddaughters, Jalynn Ahart and Emmalynn Anderson; one stepson, Gary (Sherry) Floor, of Toledo, Ohio; three step-grandsons, Matthew and Troy Floor and Ben Cannon; one step-granddaughter, Jordan Cannon; four step-great-granddaughters, Amya, Elaya, Breyna and Seyla Floor; and six step-great-grandsons, Gavin and Grayson Floor and Gage, Dominic, Mason and Jacob Winward. Visitation for Henry C. Wohltmann, Jr. will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at New Hope Community Church in Bryan with Pastor David Nicholls officiating, with one hour of visitation at the church on Saturday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Stryker with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW Post #2489 and the United States Marine Honor Guard. Memorials are requested to an agency of the donor’s choice.
