Viola M. Herman, age 70, of Reading, Michigan, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died at 8:50 A.M. on Friday, October 2, 2015, at Hillsdale Community Health Center in Hillsdale, Michigan, where she was a patient, after a brief illness. Mrs. Herman had been employed throughout the years as a cook and waitress in several area restaurants. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, making dolls and blankets and was a longtime avid dart player, participating in several leagues. The daughter of Forest and Reva (Williams) Bradford, Viola was born on September 13, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio. She married her husband of twenty-five years, Richard E. Herman, on August 7, 1990, in Denver, Colorado, and he survives. Survivors also include her children, Brian Swicker, of Houston, Texas, Kevin Gillett, of Paulding, Ohio, Kerry Gillett, also of Houston, Lori Adams, of LaPorte, Texas, Edward Landwehr, Jr., of Kunkle, Ohio, and Mark Landwehr, also of LaPorte, Texas; her stepchildren, Deb Gillett, David E. Herman and Robert Herman, all of Bryan, and Richard M. Herman, of Edgerton, Ohio; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ethel Keck Jones, of Paulding. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers. Services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. in the New Life Worship Center in Bryan with Pastor Mark Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Service arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.
