Patricia A. (Beck) Cape, age 84, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 8:25 P.M. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio, where she was a patient following an extended illness. Mrs. Cape was a 1949 graduate of Edgerton High School. In her early years, she worked at the Edgerton Canning Factory and The Aro Corporation as a keypunch operator. After many years working as a homemaker and devoted mother, she reentered the workforce, holding many positions in retail and manufacturing. Many of the years were spent at Ames (Murphy Mart) in Bryan and Airway Manufacturing in Edgerton. Her greatest joy in life came from her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking, baking and collecting snowmen. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society in Edgerton. Patricia A. (Beck) Cape was born on January 28, 1931, in Edgerton, Ohio, the daughter of Garland Arthur and Mary Velma (Myers) Beck. She married Donald “Joe” Anthony Cape on March 10, 1951, in Edgerton, and he survives. Surviving in addition to her husband of 64 years are six sons, Craig (Ana) Cape, of Santa Clarita, California, David (Cheryl) Cape, of Edgerton, Timothy Cape, of Columbus, Ohio, Christopher Cape, of Montpelier, Ohio, William (Lorey) Cape, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Rodney (Wendy) Cape, of Edgerton; four daughters, Jane Cape, of Springfield, Ohio, Pamela (Barry) Ehle, of New Haven, Indiana, Marcia (Scott) Willibey and Barbara (Dan) Waldron, both of Montpelier. Also surviving are twenty-one grandchildren, David Cape, Elizabeth Cape, Cheri (Matt) Yocum, Adam (Melissa) Malone, Cortney (Ben) Fortney, Lauren Ehle, Jackie (Steve) Evert, Karri (Brandon) Flint, Emily (Josh) Tonneas, Olivia Cape, Will Cape, Aaron Willibey, Greg Willibey, Brooke (Briton) Moore, Jessica (Dave Sharps) Waldron, Trent Waldron, Kirby Waldron, Treg Waldron, Austin (Danielle) Cape, Jerrod Cape and Rachel Cape; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Matthew Yocum, Adan Malone, Eoin Malone, Caitlin Malone, Ella Fortney, Lucy Fortney, Sydney Evert, Lucy Evert, Jacob Evert, Amelia Flint, Eden Flint, Kaida Feeney and Jayce Feeney. She is also survived by two brothers, G. Arthur (Elaine) Beck, of Willmette, Illinois, and Kenneth (Yvonne) Beck, of Montpelier, and one sister, Kathleen (Kenneth) Moog, of Ney, Ohio. Preceding her in death were her parents; one grandchild, Heather Cape; and one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Taylor Cape. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Daniel Borgelt officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Edgerton. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8:00 P.M. on Sunday in the funeral home. Memorials are requested to St. Mary School or the Edgerton Branch of the Williams County Public Library.
