Doyle W. Clark, age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, where he had been a patient. Doyle was a machinist at The Aro Corporation for 43 years prior to his retirement. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Clark was assigned to a M.A.S.H. unit as a medic and was awarded a Purple Heart medal for injuries he sustained in action. Doyle W. Clark was born on February 13, 1934, in West Unity, Ohio, the son of Elmer and Hazel (Stevens) Clark. He married Thelma E. Hendricks on August 7, 1954, in Angola, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on March 14, 2015. Doyle is survived by his two sons, Douglas Clark and Christopher (Sherry) Clark, both of Bryan; four grandchildren, Jason Clark, Holly Shockley, Christopher Gyurnek and Stephanie Payne; three great-grandchildren, Gavin Shockley, Logan Clark and Garrett Shockley; and a brother, Robert (Janet) Clark, of West Jefferson. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Joan Fisher and Mary Ann Kuzmaul, and brothers, Sylvester, Maynard and Alfred Clark. Grave side funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. at Shiffler Cemetery with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Bryan VFW Post 2489. Memorials are requested to the Foundation for Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders.
