Mary Jean Arnett

Mary J. Arnett, age 93, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 8:04 P.M. on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Genesis HealthCare-Bryan Center, where she had been a resident. She and her husband, Stanley, operated the Stryker Food Locker from 1955-1969 and she retired from Spangler Candy Company in Bryan with thirteen years of service. Mary enjoyed quilting, making delicious pies of every kind from scratch, reading, sewing and gardening in her flower bed. Mary Jean Arnett was born on September 3, 1921, in Camden Township near Hillsdale, Michigan, the daughter of the Perry and Hattie (Nichols) Dauber. She married Stanley L. Arnett in July of 1946, and he preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey Arnett, of West Unity, Ohio, and Larry (Elsa) Arnett, of Bryan; a daughter, Sonja Moreland, of Pioneer, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and five sisters, Opal, Zena, Lois, Zelda and Wilma. Services for Mary J. Arnett will be private with entombment taking place in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Memorial contributions are requested to the Williams County Humane Society.
